Log 1: CoRP

Controller Friendly

One of the primary requirements of this server is that it relies 'primarily' on the controller.

Gamification

Parts of the server will be specifically for students and those interested in a nice balance between gaming and learning.

Event Based

The server is designed around an ongoing cycle of scenes and similar events, so it won't be up 24/7.

Connect

Providing a way to connect with fellow citizens is important, especially for the gamification aspect.

Development Markers

As Log 1, this is somewhere between a roadmap and the development markers. I’ve been working on this project since July 2019, but we’ll be starting from scratch and I’ll go over everything with you. For starters, the server is going to be a ‘standalone’ resource server, so that means no ‘framework’ like ESX or vRP. Other than that, I’ll compartmentalize it below.

Garages

The purpose of a garage is to store your vehicle. Each garage will be used independently of each other. When you store your ride in Garage A, it won't be available in Garage B.

Safe Zones

For various events and games, there will be a safe zone in effect. This will also be used as a foundation for 'Patrol Areas' and 'Gang Territory' scripts.

The Games

The server revolves around 'The Games', something that the city sponsors. This is CoRP's focus and source of income for now. Each weekend, there is an event that members can register for.

Controller Based

I enjoy using K/B, but not in games like this. I've been through servers for about a year now and they all rely on keys and such (of course). It was decided early, that CoRP would not.

Dev Contests

Being new to LUA, I've encountered different ways to code. I enjoy 'learning' and part of that is testing your knowledge. CoRP enjoys hosting contests for developers to tackle simple challenges and show their approach (and why it's better).

Stay Connected

There will be a tablet that allows you to connect with the action around the city. It's important for our members to stay in touch, so this is a core function of CoRP.
