How To Set Up
The set up process is pretty easy for MIU App. We’ll be going through the process for using Twitch. In total, there are 3 parts. Download, Install, Connecting Twitch.
- Download from the website: MixItUpApp.com
- Run the MIU Installer EXE
- Requires Admin privileges
- Sign into your Twitch account
- Consider creating a bot account if you haven’t already.
- Ignore the Legacy option for Moderator.
How To Customize
When it comes to style, MIU App lets you customize the color scheme to fit you. A nice selection of colors are provided to choose from including dark & light versions for each. In addition, some very nice pre-made themes.
Below is a preview of all color schemes grouped by Light/Dark Colors or Premade Theme.
Built-in Commands
First thing to note, ignore the Mixer references. MIU App is still in the process of changing from it’s legacy Mixer use. The bot comes with an assortment of built-in commands, similar to ones many others have.
The main thing to pay attention to is that there are pre-made commands and custom ones. The pre-made commands are on by default but can be toggled off. Look through and confirm them. Custom commands work like recipes. They run in the order that they are listed in – top to bottom.
There are some fun things you can do with MIU commands. I’ll share some of my own in a later post.
Chat Alerts (Settings)
The GEAR icon in the top nav on the right is for Settings. I always recommend going through the settings at your pace. One thing to take a look at is the Notifications tab. As someone with 1 screen, having this function was very helpful. You can set it up to play a sound when a message enters chat. You can choose from a couple supplied options. My favorite is Ceres. You can also use a custom sound.
Here are the sounds to choose from: Name & Audio
